You're not alone...
We know it can be difficult to get right. We also know getting the correct length can make a big difference when you want to look well put together.
We want to help you decide what will work best for you and your outfit while shopping online for necklaces, so we've made this necklace length chart to help you out. Also included are tips on how to measure a necklace.
Necklace Length Chart:
Our necklace chart covers most standard lengths you'll come across online. It'll give you an idea of where each length is likely to rest on you.
Remember that we all come in different shapes and sizes so if you're not sure on a necklace length, take the time to measure in front of your mirror to see what you like best.
Standard length necklaces (usually 45cm or 18") are the most commonly worn length and will suit most situations. If you're looking for a necklace to wear day to day, then this is likely to be your go-to length.
This length will generally sit above the neckline for lower cut clothing or over the top of crew necked and other high necked outfits. If you're wearing a pendant at this length it will sit in a pleasing V shape which will frame your face.
How To Measure A Necklace Or Chain
The easiest way to measure an existing necklace is with a soft tape measure. If you don't have one, use a length of string and measure against a ruler.
If the necklaces you already own don't sit on your frame where you want it to, use some string to figure out what will work for you.
Stand in front of a mirror while doing this and it will be much easier to work out. You can use a safety pin or get another person to hold the ends together to help you to get a better idea of how different lengths will sit on you.
Also remember that a pendant will generally form a V shape rather than a soft curve on your neckline. Take into account the length of the pendant to see where the bottom will sit on you.
